A little About Me
“If you only do what you’ve always done, you will only get what you’ve always gotten. Essentially I’m training people to be Batman…..”
My name is Scot R. Cruickshank and I am a functional movement specialist, I aim to help people move and perform in the most optimal fashion possible. Whether that be on the football field or in the kitchen, from the forest vale to the bathroom scale, the modern human environment is a unique obstacle for each of us, but one we can overcome!. My job is to help you solve your personal movement puzzle. I think of myself as a “recovering Triathlete”, current Adventure Racer and avid hiker/ National Park adventurer. These particular activities have given me a respect and understanding of the critical importance of optimal movement patterns in a 3d environment and proper recovery practice techniques. Any idiot can make you sweat, but a good trainer knows when not to…
With almost two decades of training experience and a wealth of knowledge, I am a decorated Master Personal Trainer and the former Program Assistant to the University of Florida Strength & Conditioning Program. Scot is accredited through the American Council on Exercise, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and is a PTA (Personal Training Academy) Global Advanced practitioner. I have trained professional and semi professional athletes in: Football, Baseball, Soccer, Rugby, Lacrosse, Equestrian, Rock Climbers, Aerialists, Triathletes Adventure Racers, Tactical Operators (Marine Corps Force Recon, US Coast Guard Search and Rescue), and of course every-day people looking to lose weight and move without the burden of pain. Scot has also worked with special needs children which has given him a unique insight into the importance of games and play in every training session. As a Corrective Exercise Specialist, who has done extensive shadowing in Physical Therapy clinics, Scot has a foundation of functional movement knowledge and movement imbalance identification with the means to correct it that is unrivaled in the local area.
